Empower Youth | Inspiring Futures

What is Swampbots?

As a dedicated non-profit organization based in the scenic town of High Springs, Florida, we're on a mission to empower the youth of our rural communities through the transformative power of STEM education and robotics. Our program is free for as many kids as we can possibly support.

Swampbots began with a simple yet profound vision: to provide young minds with the tools, resources, and opportunities to explore the fascinating realms of science, technology, engineering, and programming. What started as a small initiative has blossomed into a thriving community hub, where creativity, collaboration, and curiosity reign supreme.

Jason Sweat, President

Jason is the visionary who set out to make Swampbots what it is today. He has been a part of several non-profit ventures and is a key member of the High Springs community. His connections with local leaders, natural coaching ability, business savvy, and genuine drive to improve the lives of kids in this community make him the obvious choice to run this organization. Jason has at least 4 kids in various teams in the program and coaches 2 teams.

Bruce Gillingham, VP

Bruce is a community leader with decades in public service working in the High Springs Fire Department and local city government. He has been with Jason the whole journey from the beginning and has proven essential in helping Swampbots gain the support and funding it needs to keep the program accessible to all kids who are interested. Bruce's daughter is on the Frogmen team.

Carla Hooser, Treasurer

Carla is not only kind and outgoing but crafty and smart to boot. She works at a local bank in Gainesville and is a loving mom. Her husband is a coach of the Frogmen and her son is also on the Frogmen team.

Kimberly Farris, Secretary

Kimberly's a mom, a wife, a business owner, a Girl Scout troop leader, and (in her spare time 🤣) runs Swampbots' social media, captures the memories, manages the website, and generally tries to keep the organization on task. Suffice it to say that she's a woman who wears many hats. Her husband and son are on the Frogmen team.
